Waste Labourer Larne Depot

We are currently recruiting for a Labourer to join the team at Larne Depot for Mid & East Antrim Borough Council. The role will be temporary for a duration of three months with possible extension.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

• Provide general driving support to Operational Services to ensure that all refuse is removed from household, industrial and commercial premises such as houses, shops, schools, business premises for appropriate disposal by working as part of a small team.
• Responsible for any vehicle, equipment, passengers etc. allocated for the purpose of waste collection, cleansing, recycling or other appropriate services.

Hours of Work:

• 37 hours per week - Tuesday to Friday

Essential Criteria:

Applicants must have:

• One years' experience in general labouring in an outdoors environment

• Have an awareness of Health and Safety and COSHH Legislation

Desirable Criteria:

Applicants must have:

• Valid Category B Driving Licence
• Any penalty points active on the driving licence must be declared along with the relevant code. These will then be assessed for relevance of the duties of the post.
• One year's previous experience of working in a waste environment

Salary:

• (Currently £26,403 to £26,824)
