Job description

Our Client, A Large Public Sector Organisation based in Coleraine require a Compliance and Verification Officer to join their team.

Location : Coleraine

Hours of Work : 37 hrs per week

Hourly Rate : 1-12 weeks £18.41 13 weeks + £20.02

Main Duties :

  • The post holder will be responsible for the oversight and administration of the Funding Unit's financial, vouching, verification and monitoring of the Councils Grant Funding expenditure.
  • The post holder will ensure that all funds allocated to Grant Programmes by Council are effectively and efficiently accounted for in accordance with Council policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that the department complies with all statutory and legislative requirements by adhering to these requirements and working in accordance with good governance and health and safety requirements.
  • Ensure that all responsibilities are carried out in a timely and effective manner and that general confidentiality is maintained in all areas relating to the work of the Council.

Essential Criteria :

  • A third level qualification in a relevant subject such as Business or Finance.

AND

  • Be able to demonstrate on the application form, by providing personal and specific examples a minimum of one years' experience in financial and administrative duties to include:
  1. Claims processing for significant projects to the value of £100,000 or above, including the vouching and verification of expenditure;
  2. Ability to collect, analyse, interpret and report on a variety of data;
  3. Project monitoring

OR

  • Alternatively consideration may be given to candidates who do not possess the required educational qualifications but who can demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, that they have three years' experience to include a - c outlined above.

PLUS

  • Experience in the use of Microsoft Office packages to include: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Verification procedures
  • A full current driving licence (Category B, valid in the UK) and access to a vehicle that will enable the post holder to meet the requirements of the post OR have access to a form of transport that enables you to carry out the duties of the post.
