We are seeking a Trade Counter Sales Assistant to join a busy and well-established hardware and building supplies business in Newcastle West, Co. Limerick. This is a full-time, permanent role with great potential for career growth.

Serving both trade professionals and retail customers, they take pride in offering quality products and a friendly, professional service. To support continued growth, they are now looking for a motivated Trade Counter Sales Assistant who is passionate about sales and enjoys working in a customer-facing environment.
Responsibilities
The Trade Counter Sales Assistant will play a key role in driving sales and delivering excellent customer service. Duties will include:
- Advising trade and retail customers on a wide range of products and recommending solutions to meet their needs;
- Managing sales transactions accurately and securely;
- Handling customer queries in-store, by phone, and by email in a professional and timely manner;
- Assisting with merchandising, restocking, and maintaining attractive product displays;
- Supporting stock control processes, including cycle counts and inventory checks;
- Working collaboratively with the wider team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

- Competitive salary €30,000 - €36,000 DOE + commission;

Criteria
- Previous experience in trade counter sales, retail, or customer service;
- Strong enthusiasm for sales and building lasting customer relationships;
- A background in hardware, construction, or building supplies would be highly advantageous;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team;
- Flexible, organised, and customer-focused.
