Staffline are working in partnership with Norbev recruiting for a permanent Syrup Room Operator to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well established team in Ballymena who have just been awarded their Investors in People Accreditation! Candidates applying must be willing to work rotating day and nightshift.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure ingredients are blended in accordance with the manufacturing instructions to form bulk syrup batches. Manual handling of materials is required. Testing and approval of all syrups in an accurate, timely manner and vigilantly for signs of impending problems, addressing any problems promptly to minimise downtime.
- Responsible for returning raw materials back to storage in an acceptable condition, including full traceability and usage details.
- Responsible for batch make-up and own time management to ensure batches are made in enough time to support production.
- Perform duties to the highest standard adhering to standard operating procedures in a safe and efficient manner to maximise production and achieve targets.
- Liaise with Syrup Room Lead when critical issues regarding product non-conformance, safety and/or production issues arise.
- Contribute towards achieving and maintaining a positive team and working environment, working in a cooperative manner and providing support to work colleagues on your line as needed and adapting to change in a positive and professional manner.
- Communicate in a respectful, professional and timely manner with Managers, work colleagues and wider team to maintain continuity of production and ensure a safe, efficient working environment for all.
- Promote accident prevention on your line by adhering to all safety guidelines and standards, ensuring that the correct PPE is always being worn and encourage active participation in all required training. Report any safety accidents/incidents to H & S Officer / QSE Manager and identify, communicate and eliminate potential hazards.
- Carry out quality checks in accordance with laid down procedures and inform Production Manager / QSE Technician promptly of any doubtful or unusual findings. If the integrity of any batch is suspect, follow correct procedures and complete CAPA.
- Responsible for maintaining documentation associated with operations and ensure that all monitoring systems required by the Company are completed accurately to ensure that filling conditions are checked in accordance with laid down quality procedures.
- Manage waste to ensure that wastage of product is kept to a minimum.
- Responsible for ensuring that the department is maintained to the highest standards of housekeeping and hygiene, in line with regulatory, company and customer requirements.
- Comply with all hygiene, environmental and health and safety instructions provided and safeguard your own health and safety and that of others on your line who may be affected by your actions.
- Undertake tasks and projects from time to time as may be reasonably required of you by Management in connection with your duties.
- Any other duties and tasks deemed to be within competence and within reason.
Criteria:
- Experience in an operational role within a high-speed manufacturing industry.
- Previous experience working towards regulatory and customer standards.
- Must be physically fit and ability to lift 25 kilo bags safely.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Basic Maths skills ideally GCSE Maths
- Previous experience with batch make-up and following recipes to exact and precise instruction.
- Ability to adjust defective syrup batches using technical knowledge
- Proactive and can-do approach
- Proven problem-solving skills
- Takes responsibility for actions/tasks and is passionate about the service delivered
