Our Client, A Large Public Sector Organisation based in Limavady require a Swimming Instructor to join their team.

Role : Swim Instructor

Location : Roe Valley Leisure Centre - Limavady

Hours of work : Casual Hours

Hourly Rate : £14.00

Main Duties

  • The post holder will be involved in the instruction, supervision and control of those taking part in classes and/or activities, enforcing Health and Safety regulations and standard operating procedures at all times.
  • Assist the Duty Officer with the organisation and delivery of all Centre-based swimming programmes, school swimming galas, Council's Summer Schemes and other special events/activities as required.
  • Deliver structured, balanced swimming tuition programmes which include, schools swimming programmes, working with special needs groups/ individuals and positively responding to requirements of other groups and organisations, in line with the needs of the service.
  • Carry out swimming instruction in accordance with an accredited swimming governing body swim syllabus, including compiling course records and lesson plans, and providing written reports as required
  • Ensure that Council policies and procedures on child protection and vulnerable adults are adhered to at all times.
  • Responsible for ensuring accidents / incidents are dealt with efficiently and promptly while accurately recording related details. Inform line manager(s) of all such incidents.
  • Report any defects or damage to equipment or buildings to appropriate personnel in order to ensure problems are dealt with and do not pose a risk to other employees and/or customers.
  • Assist the Duty Officer with promotion and administrative duties associated with the post.
  • Maintain a high standard of customer care, including providing feedback to customers, and providing a first-line response to complaints, in line with Centre procedures. Make line manager aware of customer feedback/complaints.

Essential Criteria

  • A recognised Level 2 Assistant Swimming Teachers Qualification i.e. Swim England, Swim Ireland or STA Swimming Instructor qualification or equivalent
  • A current Lifesaving qualification e.g. NPLQ award or equivalent

AND

  • A minimum of 1 years experience of teaching swimming
