Steel Fixer

Our client, a leading manufacturing company, has a vacancy for a Steel Fixer at their site in Co Fermanagh.

The company has been operating since the 1970's and they are an integral part of larger group. They are constantly evolving through technical innovation, and they are now at the forefront of providing pioneering, cost effective, construction solutions designed to meet the needs of any construction project.

The Role

As a Steel Fixer, you will

• Cut steel bars and mesh to form reinforcing cages for Precast concrete stairs and landings
• Ability to read design drawings and cutting schedules
• Use of overhead gantry cranes to lift finished steel cages into moulds
• Be familiar with relevant BS standards for Reinforcement bar shape codes
• Ensure appropriate stocks of materials are available
• Carry out planned maintenance schedule for steel bending machine and other equipment

Experience necessary for the suitable Steel Fixer:

• Must be able to interpret working drawings and have very good maths skill
• Must be accurate with dimensions during set-up of steel reinforcing cages
• Must be self-motivated and a hardworking, results driven individual
• Must work at a fast pace
• Attention to detail a must
• Must be safety minded and have an excellent safety record
• Must be organized and maintain an orderly, clean environment
• Possession of a forklift truck certificate would be an advantage.

Hours of work:

• Mon - Fri 42hrs per week
