Senior IT Destruction Specialist

Staffline Recruitment Ireland is seeking a Senior IT Destruction Specialist with a background and/or interest in IT. This is a full time permanent role based in Limerick.

Responsibilities:
As a Senior IT Destruction Specialist, the role involves ensuring the secure, compliant, and efficient destruction of IT assets and data storage devices in line with industry regulations and company standards. Your main responsibilities include:

• IT Asset & Data Destruction
• Performing secure destruction of IT assets, including hard drives, SSDs, tapes, and other electronic storage devices using certified methods such as shredding, degaussing, or software wiping.
• Compliance & Security
• Ensuring strict chain of custody procedures are followed during IT asset handling, transportation, and destruction;
• Maintaining detailed records and certification of destruction for clients, ensuring full regulatory compliance;
• Conducting quality control checks to confirm complete data erasure before asset disposal.
• Operational & Team Leadership
• Assisting in the development and improvement of IT destruction procedures to enhance efficiency and security;
• Ensuring the secure transport and handling of IT assets from collection sites to the destruction facility.
• Environmental & Compliance Reporting
• Ensuring destroyed IT assets are properly recycled or disposed of in line with environmental regulations;
• Supporting audit processes by maintaining accurate destruction logs and reports;
• Staying up to date with new data protection laws and IT destruction best practices.

This role requires technical expertise in IT destruction, strict adherence to compliance standards, and strong organisational skills. A Senior IT Destruction Specialist ensures that all IT assets are securely processed, documented, and disposed of in an environmentally responsible manner.

Benefits:

• Good salary starting from €35.000,00 - €40.000,00 per annum (depending on experience)

Criteria:

• Understanding of IT Hardware, including servers, networking equipment and storage devices;
• Level 5/6/7 Qualification in IT related discipline is an advantage;
• Experience leading a team or managing IT disposal projects is beneficial;
• Strong attention to detail;
• Good communication skills to liaise with clients, auditors and compliance officers.
