Management Accountant (Band7)
Location: Knockbracken, Belfast
Salary: £23.60 p/h
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week / Monday - Friday
Duration: Temporary ongoing
Our client is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join their Finance team. This role will support the Assistant Director of Finance in delivering high-quality financial management across the Trust, providing expert advice, preparing business cases, and driving continuous improvement in line with our strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide financial support and advice to Senior Managers and budget holders.
- Develop and analyse business cases and service development proposals.
- Investigate financial variances and support solutions to address them.
- Contribute to strategic planning, risk management, and project delivery.
- Assist in budget setting, monitoring, and financial reporting.
- Ensure accurate and meaningful financial information is available to stakeholders.
- Liaise with internal/external auditors and support implementation of recommendations.
- Support the continuous development of financial policies, procedures, and reporting systems.
Essential Criteria
- CCAB-qualified Accountant with at least 3 years' relevant financial management experience.
- Minimum 1 year's experience in budgetary control and preparation of management accounting reports.
- Minimum 1 year's experience producing business cases.
- Proven ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders to achieve financial outcomes.
- Strong IT skills, with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Desirable
- Experience of Health & Social Care (HSC) financial systems.
