Staffline is recruiting candidates to work as a Bulk Cheese Operative at our client - a leading Dairy processor - based in Cookstown.
This full-time role offers fixed shifts.
The hours available include:
3 Days on 3 days off 3 nights on
7am-7pm/7pm-7am
The hourly rate is £11.44 per hour day shift and £11.92 per hour night shift
Overtime is available
Experience in a similar role is desirable, but not essential as full training is provided.
Job Role:
As a Bulk Cheese & Whey Process Operative on Towers you will become responsible for ensuring the efficient running of Plant associated with the bagging and sealing of our Cheese blocks and all associated Micro and Chemi sampling as well as cleaning of plant following COP Schedules. As this is a developing role, the successful candidate will be required to train and become competent in Cheesemaking and Whey operations roles as required by the company. This development, through training, will help the successful candidate develop a high level of cheese and whey process knowledge. The role calls for candidates who have an interest in acquiring the specialist knowledge and craft skills required in cheese making alongside the capability to operate state of the art, highly automated production facilities to produce quality cheese, from pasteurisation through curd production to finished product. In addition, this role will incorporate whey processing. Full training will be provided to develop a comprehensive understanding of the processes involved.
The shift pattern will be a 3 days on, 3 days off basis rotating between days and nights (7-7).
This is an important and key role within our cheesemaking operation and we are looking for people with energy and drive, who are keen to develop specialist skills, take on responsibility and be part of a successful team. The ideal candidate should have:
* Recent and relevant food/production experience.
* Previous Machine operation experience.
* Flexibility to work shift pattern - including weekends.
* The ability to work with minimal supervision.
* A good general level of education, preferably with knowledge of food hygiene.

Our ideal Bulk Cheese Operative will have a basic understanding of English, both written and verbal, in order to communicate with other workers. They will also need to be reliable, punctual and have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
