About the Role
The Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute (AFBI) is seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised Learning & Development Advisor to join their People & Culture Branch.
In this key role, you will support the day-to-day running of the People & Culture Branch and lead the engagement and development programme. This specialist role is responsible for adding value in the area of learning and development, supporting AFBI in meeting its organisational goals and achieving long-term success.

Key Responsibilities
The main duties of the post will include:
Supporting the development of AFBI employees by administering and managing an annual training needs exercise, including researching and engaging external training providers while ensuring all procurement guidelines are followed.
Actioning ad-hoc training requests across the organisation in a timely manner.
Producing regular analysis on learning and development progress, ensuring up-to-date and accurate statistics are maintained.
Managing and advising on learning and development-related queries, ensuring policies and procedures are upheld and that stakeholders receive a high-quality service.
Ensuring timely payment of invoices, working closely with the Finance Department.
Undertaking all duties respecting confidentiality, sensitivity, and duty of care at all times.
Collaborating with the People & Culture Branch to ensure all services are delivered to a consistently high standard across all divisions, maintaining the trust of AFBI employees.
This list is not exhaustive, and the successful candidate may be required to carry out other duties as allocated by management.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must provide evidence in their application form that they meet the following essential criteria:
5 GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Maths at Grades A-C (minimum 2 of the 5).
A minimum of 1 year's experience in a fast-paced environment supporting and advising on learning and development/training programmes or initiatives.
Demonstrable experience efficiently managing a varied workload, meeting a wide range of objectives through coordination with multiple stakeholders.
Experience building credibility with stakeholders through effective verbal and written communication to provide sound advice and support.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, specifically Excel (including pivot tables) and Word, to support a range of reporting requirements.
Preferred Criteria
Strong knowledge of online development tools and platforms and ability to quickly learn new technology/software.
Adaptable and resourceful self-starter who enjoys overcoming barriers to have impact and drive change.
Shortlisting Criteria
Extent and quality of experience demonstrated within learning and development.
Relevant or equivalent qualifications (including type and date awarded).
