General Operative

We are delighted to be recruiting for general operatives for our local client based in the outskirts of Derry/L'Derry, who is a global leader in their field. Successful candidates will work on rotational shifts 7am-7pm and 7pm-7am on a full time, temporary, ongoing basis.

Key Duties:

• Ensure safe working practices are adhered to including the appropriate use of PPE
• Acquire knowledge of procedures, work instructions, and associated forms
• Learn to operate converting machinery and ancillary equipment
• Assist with on-the-job training so that employees can be up-skilled to operate equipment in line with specified quality requirements
• Work closely with the Lead Operator
• Promptly identify any problems which arise which may interfere with production schedules and liaise with relevant personnel to resolve
• Ensure cleanliness of machines
• Contribute to continuous improvement in manufacturing performance

What We Need From You:

• Maths and English GCSE or equivalent
• Previous manufacturing experience
• Knowledge of production and quality systems
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Analytical thinking and problem solving skills
• Strong organisational and communication skills
