Role: Financial Controller

Contract Type: Temporary

Location: Dunmurry

The Role: Our Dunmurry based Client has an opportunity for a Financial Controller to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To develop, appraise and motivate the staff member reporting to the post and volunteers ensuring they contribute constructively to the work of the team.
  • To manage recording and reporting on the financial transactions through the application of SAGE.
  • Producing the monthly accounts. Attending Senior Leadership Team and Board meetings as and when required.
  • To assist during the enrolment process and record keeping of payments made including following -up on outstanding debts.
  • Producing timely reports on key income streams to the Senior Leadership Team and Board to support financial forecasting.
  • To support and ensure compliance with risk management and audit requirements.
  • To maintain and process the payroll systems and to liaise with HMRC, insurers and Government agencies.
  • To undertake bank reconciliations and make bank lodgements.
  • Analyse, prepare and present monthly and quarterly financial, budgeting and forecasting reports and present your findings to the Board.
  • Support other departments to create and maintain their budgets.
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register and journaling any necessary adjustments prior to compiling the monthly accounts.
  • Providing guidance for non-finance staff on all aspects of financial regulations and finance processes.

Essential Criteria:

  • Degree and professional accounting qualification.
  • A Valid UK Driving Licence.

Desirable Experience:

  • Evidence of investigative, research, analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to undertake projects of varying complexity.
  • Proven work experience as a Finance Officer or similar role.
  • Solid knowledge of financial and accounting procedures.
  • Experience using financial software.
  • In the application of MS Excel.
  • In the application of financial regulations.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data.

Hours of Work:

  • 8am -4pm Monday - Thursday - 29 hours a week.
