Caretaker

Lisburn

The Client: Local Government body based in Lisburn, serving local residents.

The Role:

Cover includes opening up and closing the building depending on what shift is worked, set up and take down rooms ie tables/chairs etc, meet and greet room bookers and visitors to the Bridge Community Centre, carry out and record all Health and Safety checks and carry out cleaning of the building.

As a member of the Community Facilities & Resources Team the postholder will be required to:

  • Ensure that the premises are available for use to all customers in an appropriate state and the terms and conditions of hire as set out by the Council are strictly adhered to
  • Assume additional duties as reasonably assigned by the Community Centre Co-Ordinator to meet changing business needs and requirements and cover for annual leave/other absences with due notice

Hours of work: various hours available (morning/evenings)

Requirements:

  • 5 GCSE passes at grade A-C, NVQ Level 2 or equivalent
  • A minimum of one year's employment experience working as a caretaker with specific experience in at least three of the following areas:
  • Cleaning
  • Maintenance Work
  • Erecting, dismantling and storing equipment
  • Security
  • First Aid

Where applicants do not hold the qualifications as outlined in 1.1 above, they must demonstrate a minimum of three years'

experience as outlined in 1.2 above

  • A full current driving licence valid in the UK and access to a car or have access to a form of transport that enables you to carry out the duties of the post*

1.6 Knowledge of cleaning material stock taking

  • Rates of pay £12.59 per hour
