Full-Time Finance Officer
Location: South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust
Hours: Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week
Pay Rate: £14.06 per hour
JOB SUMMARY
The post holder will assist with the administration of an effective and efficient Financial Services function to including General Ledger, FPM Systems Administration, Eproc Systems Administration and the management of the systems and staff within the department. The Officer will be responsible for the organisation and control of a block of work within said areas. The post holder will deputise for the Band 5 Financial Officer as and when required.
KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
The post holder will be required to carry out a range of duties which may include all or some of the following:
- Be responsible for the day to day operation of the General Ledger, FPM Systems Administration, Eproc Systems Administration, as delegated / assigned. Supporting other Band 4's and providing cover as and when required. . Assist the Band 5 Finance Officer in contributing to improving the overall financial governance within the organisation. The post holder will be fully supported by the Band 5 Finance Officer but will work largely on own initiative on day to day operational issues. Dealing with end users of various systems and their requests, queries and problems.
- Liaison with a range of stakeholders both internal and external to the HSC including staff, and other HSC Departments. Assist with the completion of the Statutory Accounts.
- The post holder will contribute to working with a range of stakeholders across the HSC to refine processes which will improve efficiencies and realise the benefits of all systems they use. Work with other HSC colleagues within regional working groups to build effective working relationships and drive efficiencies / necessary improvements in all systems they use. Provide support to the Finance Directorate & Internal Teams to trouble shoot, investigate and resolve issues / errors. Taking timely corrective action where necessary.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
a. An HNC/D (finance related) or equivalent, plus 1 year's suitable relevant experience* in a Finance Department. OR NVQ level 3 plus 2 years suitable relevant experience* in a Finance Department. OR 2 years recent suitable experience* in a Finance Department at Band 3 or equivalent. AND b. Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of having worked with a range of stakeholders. AND c. Have good IT skills in relation to MS Office (in particular Excel) applications and experience of working with financial systems.
Other
Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment.
