Job description

Purpose of the Role

As a Manufacturing Manager, you will provide proactive leadership across production operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing performance. You will lead and develop production teams, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure operational targets are consistently achieved while fostering a culture of Operational Excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards across all production activities.
  • Lead and manage shift-based production teams of approximately 75 employees.
  • Deliver production requirements while meeting quality, cost, efficiency, and delivery targets.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise productivity, improve efficiency, and minimise waste.
  • Monitor production performance using data and KPIs to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop, coach, and motivate production teams to build engagement, accountability, and high performance.
  • Support a culture of Operational Excellence through effective leadership and collaboration.
  • Ensure production processes comply with company procedures and management systems.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth production planning and operational effectiveness.
  • Manage resources effectively while maintaining budgetary and commercial awareness.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a manufacturing or production leadership role within an FMCG environment.
  • Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven experience delivering continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Data-driven approach to decision-making and performance management.
  • Hands-on leadership style with excellent people management and coaching skills.
  • Experience working with Quality, Safety, and Environmental (QSE) management systems.
  • Strong process management knowledge.
  • Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and operational costs.
