Role: Regeneration Project Officer

Rate of Pay: £18.85

Hours: 37 hours

Location: Mossley Mill

Main Purpose of Role:

The Regeneration Project Officer will support the delivery of a range of economic development and regeneration programmes aligned to the Council's Corporate Plan, Integrated Masterplan and regional strategies, including the Belfast Region City Deal.

The postholder will assist Regeneration Officers in the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of funded projects that support local businesses, town centres and the wider economy. The role includes financial monitoring, grant verification, stakeholder engagement and ensuring compliance with funding and audit requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support delivery of regeneration and economic development programmes.
  • Assist with funding applications, claims, monitoring and financial reporting.
  • Verify expenditure and ensure compliance with grant conditions and audit standards.
  • Review business plans and undertake project assessments and economic appraisals.
  • Support procurement and tender processes.
  • Maintain accurate project records and performance monitoring systems.
  • Engage with stakeholders, businesses and delivery partners, including site visits.
  • Assist with town centre engagement initiatives and promotional activities.
  • Contribute to service planning, budgeting and reporting.
  • Deputise for Regeneration Officers as required.
  • Provide administrative support to project boards and partnership groups.
  • Work flexibly, including occasional evening duties.

Essential Criteria

Qualifications

  • Level 4 qualification (or above) in a relevant discipline (e.g. Business),
    or minimum 2 years' relevant experience.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification desirable.

Experience

  • At least 1 year recent experience in economic, rural, community development or regeneration.
  • Experience managing, monitoring and verifying funding applications and claims.
  • Experience of public procurement processes.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Positive, flexible and solution-focused approach.

Special Knowledge

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Other Requirements

  • Full driving licence and access to transport (or suitable alternative).
  • Willingness to work evenings as required.
