Staffline Recruitment Ireland, on behalf of our valued client, is seeking a hardworking and reliable General Operative to join their busy recycling and environmental services operation in Limerick. This is a full-time fixed-term position initially for 6 months, with the possibility of extension to a permanent contract.
Organisation
Our client is a well-established environmental and recycling company providing waste management, metal recycling, and industrial support services across Ireland. With a strong focus on safety, sustainability, and operational excellence, they support a wide range of industrial, commercial, and construction clients through efficient recycling and recovery solutions.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will support the day-to-day operations of a busy recycling yard and assist with maintaining safe and efficient site operations.
Site Duties:
- Sort and separate recyclable materials;
- Assist with loading and unloading deliveries and customer vehicles;
- Support stock movement and general yard operations;
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment;
- Operate tools, machinery, and equipment in line with training and safety procedures;
- Identify recyclable materials and remove contaminants where required;
- Follow all Health & Safety and environmental procedures on-site;
- Assist with additional operational duties as required by site management.
Benefits
- Starting pay from €14.50 per hour (depending on experience);
- 40-hour working week with overtime opportunities available;
- Monday to Friday schedule with Saturday overtime available (Overtime paid at time and a half);;
- Monday to Friday: 8:00am - 5:30pm/ Saturday overtime available: 8:00am - 12:30pm

Criteria
- Previous work experience within a yard, recycling, warehouse, construction, manufacturing, or industrial environment;
- Good awareness of Health & Safety procedures;
- Ability to carry out physical duties;
- Forklift, telehandler, or plant machinery experience and/or certificates advantageous;
- Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification desirable;
- Full driving licence preferred.
