The role: The role will include working as part of a team and playing a key part of the strategic modernisation and development of the pathway for GP and other referrals within the Trust. This will include the interface with patients, GPs and colleagues within the Trust both by correspondence and telephone.
The post holder must have a flexible and innovative approach towards the development of the new AHP Central Registration & Booking Centre and electronic referral booking. The post holder will also be required to adhere to all relevant procedures and policies within the Trust.
Responsibilities:
- Fully implement the partial booking process, telephoning patients as required and the associated administrative processes in accordance with departmental protocols.
- Deal with incoming /outgoing mail and ensure that mail is distributed appropriately to relevant patients in a timely manner.
- To co-ordinate and process a range of correspondence in accordance with agreed procedures within the area of responsibility.
- To ensure that work for which responsible is processed in a timely manner in accordance with agreed performance standards and that any derogation is brought to the attention of their line manager.
- To prioritise workload in accordance with expected outcomes.
- Deal with routine queries, referring to their line manager when necessary.
- Continually strive to improve quality, standards and procedures within area of responsibility contributing to the ongoing desire to improve delivery of services.
- Undertake any other administrative and clerical duties, which may be delegated as required by service demands.
- To ensure that all systems used both manual and computerised are always maintained accurately.
- Where necessary to develop filing systems to meet the needs of the service and ensure these are maintained.
Essential Criteria:
- 4 GCSEs at Grades A-C including English Language and 1 years' experience in a clerical / administrative role
or
- 2 years' experience in a clerical / administrative role
and
- Ability to work as part of a Team
- Ability to use own initiative
- Good organisational skills with an ability to prioritise own workload.
- Effective Communications skills to meet the needs of the post in full
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in the use of HSCNI software packages including PARIS
Hours of work: Fulltime hours
Weeks 1-4:
Mon - Fri
4 days 8am to 4pm
1 day 10am to 6pm
Week 5:
Mon - Sat
3 days 8am to 4pm
1 day 10am to 6pm
1 day 8am to 11.30am
Saturday 9am to 1pm
Pay: £12.75 per hour
