The Client: Local Government body, serving local residents.

The Role:

Working within the Environmental Cleansing Service (Street Cleansing), the postholder will be required to provide, in a safe and effective manner, a quality and efficient street cleansing service, in all weather conditions.

The postholder, normally working within a squad, shall be required to interact with the public in a courteous and appropriate manner and shall be assigned to Environmental Cleansing duties throughout the Council District.

Hours of work: 36hrs per week, possible overtime which will include evenings and weekends

Requirements:

• Previous experience of performing manual work such as labouring/waste collection/street cleansing
• Knowledge of health and safety guidelines
• Knowledge of waste reception, removal, storage and sorting
• Knowledge and understanding of route plans and maps and the ability to undertake basic calculations

Rate of Pay: £13.63 p/hr
