Leisure Attendant
Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council
Salary: £13.69 per hour (Plus 10% flexibility allowance for qualifying shifts £15.06)
Location: Antrim Forum
Job Purpose:
To provide a high-quality, safe, and welcoming leisure service, including professional lifeguarding duties and maintaining a clean, safe environment for all customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise customers to ensure safe and enjoyable use of leisure facilities
Provide an effective lifeguarding service for pool and water facilities
Respond to emergencies, first aid situations, incidents, and evacuations
Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards throughout the centre
Set up and dismantle equipment for activities and events
Complete safety checks, reports, and relevant documentation
Promote leisure facilities, events, and memberships
Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health & safety, and council policies
Essential Criteria:
Current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) or equivalent
Current recognised First Aid qualification
Strong swimming ability (swim competency test required)
Minimum 6 months' experience in the leisure industry
Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends
Commitment to excellent customer service and teamwork
