The Client: Local Government body in the Newry area serving local residents.

The Role:

The stores are a central facility to control and monitor goods received and despatched and to provide a storage facility for both stock and non-stock items as agreed with the Purchasing Officer. The post holder will be responsible for the day to day running of the stores, reporting directly to the Purchasing Officer. Including identifying any problems or matters, which are of a nature that may cause disruption, problems, mal practice or any reservations on the same or the stores in general, at the earliest possible time. To continually strive to improving the processes and activities of the stores and adopting and embracing the same in conjunction with the Purchasing Officer.

Hours of work: 21hrs per week

Essential Criteria:

• At least one years' experience working in a warehouse/store to include:
  • Stock control and inventory management
  • Working with a range of stakeholders including internal customers and suppliers
• Knowledge of safe manual handling techniques
• A good knowledge of Health and Safety relevant to the post

Other Requirements:

• Ability to work outside of normal office hours, including evenings, weekends and public/bank holidays

Desirable Criteria:

• Forklift Licence

Rate of Pay: £15.47 p/hr
