Community Development Officer

Lisburn

Temporary for 6 months

The Client: Local Public body based in Lisburn, serving local residents.

Duties:

As a member of the Community Support Team the postholder will be required to:

  • Focus on outreach to community / voluntary organisations to help increase capacity for development through building confidence and broadening participation throughout the Council area.
  • Develop strong relationships with partner organisations and relevant stakeholders to promote outcome focused and community centred services
  • Oversee the development and implementation of Community Development programmes and initiatives.
  • Monitor and develop community development activity and make recommendations for continuous improvement to the service and customer experience.

Hours of work:

  • 37hrs per week

Essential Criteria:

  • A minimum of a level 4 qualification eg HNC plus 1 year's suitable relevant experience

OR

  • A minimum of a level 3 qualification plus 2 years suitable relevant experience

OR

  • 3 years recent suitable relevant experience

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of having worked with a range of stakeholders

  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Rate of Pay:

  • £18.85 per hour
