Senior Day Support Worker

Adult Day Services Contract: Permanent
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday (8.30am-3.30pm)
Salary: £13.17 per hour (5-point scale, increasing with length of service)
Closing Date: Friday 2 January 2026, 4.00pm

About the Role

We are recruiting a Senior Day Support Worker to join Adult Day Services within a beautiful community living facility located beside the beach. This senior role supports adults with learning disabilities and additional needs to engage in meaningful daytime activities that promote independence, wellbeing, dignity, and choice.

Working closely with the Team Leader, you will help ensure high-quality, person-centred support while upholding confidentiality, safeguarding, and professional standards at all times.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver person-centred day support in line with individual plans and PBS strategies

  • Support skill development, independence, and participation in meaningful activities

  • Assist with assessment, review, and monitoring of individual needs and progress

  • Provide guidance, mentoring, and day-to-day support to support workers

  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation in line with data protection and confidentiality requirements

  • Support personal care needs when required, maintaining dignity and respect

  • Act as senior on duty in the absence of the Team Leader

  • Ensure a safe, supportive environment in line with health, safety, and safeguarding procedures


Essential Criteria

  • QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)

  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade C or above) or equivalent

  • Registered with, or willing to register with, NISCC

  • Minimum 1 year's experience in a caring or educational support role

  • Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs

  • Ability to lead by example, maintain confidentiality, and work under pressure

  • Eligibility to work in the UK and successful Enhanced Access NI check


Desirable

  • Experience in a Day Services or Day Opportunities setting

  • PBS training and experience supporting behaviours of concern

  • Experience mentoring or supervising staff
