Yard & Forklift Operative

Are you an experienced yard or warehouse professional with strong organisational skills and a hands-on approach? We are seeking a Yard & Forklift Operative to join a busy and well-established hardware and building supplies business. This is a full-time, permanent role based in Newcastle West, Co. Limerick.

The organisation is a respected provider of building materials and hardware with a strong reputation for reliability, quality, and excellent customer service. Operating in a busy retail and trade environment, they are dedicated to maintaining high standards of efficiency, safety, and teamwork. To support continued growth, they are now looking for a proactive Yard Operative to strengthen their team.

Responsibilities

The Yard & Forklift Operative will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the yard and stores, handling deliveries, stock, and customer orders safely and efficiently. Main duties include:

• Loading and offloading deliveries, checking goods on arrival, and ensuring correct storage.
• Operating forklifts to move and organise materials in the yard and stores.
• Maintaining accurate stock records and assisting with general warehouse duties.
• Keeping the yard clean, tidy, and free of obstructions to ensure a safe environment.
• Carrying out routine checks on forklifts and equipment, and complying with all health & safety regulations.

Criteria

• Previous experience as a Yard Operative, Warehouse Operative, or similar role;
• Forklift experience is required, Forklift licence and Manual Handling certification beneficial (training can be provided if required)
• Full Irish driver's licence essential;
• Strong organisational and communication skills;
• Aged 25+ (due to insurance requirements).
