Our Banbridge based Client have opportunities for Welding QC Inspectors across 2 shifts.
As the Welding Inspector, you will ensure all welding and fabrication work meets approved specifications and quality standards. You will perform quality stage inspections, factory acceptance testing, and escalate any issues to the Senior Welding Inspector.
Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring that all quality stages are recorded, ensuring full traceability of all production items. The ideal candidate will have experience in welding inspection, quality control, and a strong understanding of fabrication processes within the M&E or manufacturing industries.
Hours of work:
- Days- 7.00am to 16.30pm Mon to Thur, 7.00am-13.30pm Fri
Or
- Backshift - 16.45pm to 3.45am Mon to Thur
Salary: Competitive depending on experience, the Backshift has an 18% uplift.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct quality stage inspections and factory acceptance testing.
- Ensure welding and fabrication meet approved drawings and specifications.
- Monitor welding operations to ensure compliance with quality and production standards.
- Inspect, test, measure, and report on welded materials and products.
- Maintain full traceability of production items.
- Accept or reject finished welded components based on quality standards.
- Identify and document non-conformances, working with teams to implement corrective actions.
- Conduct visual and non-destructive testing (NDT) on welded components.
- Review welding procedures, materials, and welder qualifications.
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a similar role within the M&E or manufacturing industries
- CSWIP 3.0.
- Effective leadership skills, including the ability to engage, develop, and motivate a team.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
- Good mathematical and technical skills.
- Strong understanding of quality control standards and testing techniques.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings accurately.
- Full UK driving license with access to own transport.
Desirable Criteria:
- CSWIP 3.1 / 3.2 certification
- Experience of weld inspection.
- An understanding of Electrical or Mechanical Schematics.
- Certification in quality control is preferred.
- Additional NDT certifications (VT, PT, MT, UT).
- Familiarity with digital reporting and inspection software.
