Our client a large public sector organisation requires a College Wide Facilities Manager to join their team.

Role: College Wide Facilities Manager

Salary: £45,718 - £48, 710

Location: TBC with Successful Candidate

Hours: 37 hours per week with 1 day a week hybrid working

Duration: Permanent

Main duties/Responsibilities:

Operational:

People Management

  • To promote effective communication within the Facilities and Operational Development Department, across the College and with all stakeholders, and to implement procedures laid down by the College, to ensure a consistent approach to delivery of services.
  • To participate in recruitment and selection of staff in accordance with College Policies and employment legislation as and when required.
  • To ensure that effective arrangements are in place for staff management and development and that performance reviews are conducted in accordance with agreed procedures. w To liaise and coordinate with the facility managers across all campuses for day-to-day operational issues

Estates Management

  • To lead a team of Facilities Managers and Caretakers across the College estate.
  • To plan, co-ordinate and manage the work of the Facilities Managers across the College campus groupings.
  • To ensure via management of the respective Facilities Managers that:
  • College buildings are clean and appropriately presented to all stakeholders to ensure a safe and healthy environment for students, staff and visitors,
  • College grounds and the external aspect of allocated College buildings are maintained in an appropriate manner, - Waste management activities are undertaken in accordance with the College's policy.
  • Energy consumption is monitored and relevant data pertaining to this is collated, maintained and presented as is required by Facilities and Operational Development management for internal and external review. Essential supplies are provided for every site.
  • To coordinate and liaise with the Facility Managers on renovation activities within existing campuses, supporting the planning and implementation of temporary adjustments to ensure minimal disruption to services.
  • Provide quarterly reports on energy usage/consumption across all campuses and assist with the development of net zero targets and objectives

Contract Management

  • Coordinate, plan and oversee in conjunction with all Facilities Managers in the Facilities and Operational Development department campus security, cleaning, catering, maintenance, ppm's remedials and other service level agreements.
  • Provide monthly reports as directed by Head of Facilities and Operational Development or other senior managers in relation to Facilities contracts.

Customer Services

  • Provide cost effective resolution of facilities related issues.
  • Proactively monitor customer service standards and complaints.
  • Provide quarterly reports on ServiceDesk issues across all campuses.

Financial Management

  • Provide the Head of Facilities and Operational Development with data that will enable the development of robust budgeting for the maintenance of facilities across the College.

Essential Criteria:

  • Degree level qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent relevant professional qualification in facility management.
  • Applicants must hold GCSE Mathematics and English Language at grades A - C, or equivalent.
  • 3 years' experience of Property Management within a multi-site, dispersed environment, including facilities management, security and risk reduction.
  • A track record of motivating, leading and managing a successful team.
  • Report writing and presentation of factual information, providing reports to board level.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in the effective management of resources including experience of managing a budget of £3.5 million.
  • Environmental qualification
