Staffline Recruitment Ireland are recruiting an Account Manager for our client who is a leading organisation in the transport and logistics industry. This is a new and exciting role working closely with our clients customers on this new contract.

The Account Manager will oversee onsite logistics operations. This hands-on role will drive productivity, efficiency, and compliance while fostering a culture of motivation and engagement within the logistics team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead the onsite logistics team to ensure effective and compliant shipping operations.
  • Coordinate outgoing shipments accurately to customer sites and distribution centres, meeting domestic and international deadlines.
  • Serve as the point of escalation for shipping-related issues.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with corporate supply chain and customer services to meet customer needs.
  • Supervise carriers and freight forwarders, driving performance improvements and building strong relationships.
  • Coach and develop the logistics team to deliver best practice results and continuous improvements.
  • Ensure team members are fully trained and maintain up-to-date training records.
  • Work with site management and supply chain stakeholders to develop the future state warehouse and logistics model.
  • Monitor and update relevant KPIs via local and corporate dashboards

Experience

  • Strong safety knowledge and commitment to personnel safety.
  • Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP system, with 5+ years of subject matter expertise in logistics movements.
  • Third-level qualification in Supervision/Management or 5+ years in a relevant logistics leadership role.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Strong systems skills and computer literacy.
  • Initiative and ability to interface effectively with colleagues at all levels and across cultures.
