Hourly rate of pay - €26

Permanent - Full time/ Night duty

This role has a set roster of 3 nights Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday each week 8 pm - 8 am

This is an exciting position for a nurse that is interested in working in a different model of care. The position is in our community based in Bruff Co Limerick. This is Ireland's first purpose-built village for people living with dementia.


  • Act as a facilitator and supervisor for Health Care Assistants.
  • Promote safety and wellbeing of all residents, staff and any other persons at all times.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Professional Practice

  • Adhere to the Code of Conduct and Clinical Guidelines.
  • Maintain professional competence and accountability.
  • Respect residents' privacy and confidentiality.
  • Follow ethical policies and authority lines.

Clinical Practice

  • Provide evidence-based nursing care.
  • Promote residents' health and wellbeing.
  • Collaborate in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Develop and evaluate care plans.
  • Build relationships with residents, families, and care teams.
  • Respect residents' dignity and spiritual needs.
  • Facilitate community links and discharge planning.
  • Educate and advocate for residents and families.
  • Maintain accurate nursing records.
  • Engage in clinical audits and evidence-based practice.
  • Assist in other care settings as needed.
  • Refer residents to other services.

Clinical Governance

  • Apply HIQA Standards.
  • Contribute to service monitoring and audits.
  • Report complaints and comply with medicine storage policies.
  • Address risks to resident care.
  • Follow clinical governance and health and safety principles.
  • Promote infection control guidelines.
  • Adhere to the dress code.
  • Manage the unit in the absence of the Clinical Nurse Manager.

Education, Training & Development

  • Take responsibility for learning and development.
  • Complete mandatory training and performance reviews.
  • Support student assessments and reflective practice.
  • Induct and train new staff.
  • Identify training needs and act as a mentor.
  • Participate in service planning and implementing new research findings.


  • Safeguard and manage records.
  • Submit activity data and reports.
  • Contribute to policy development and budget control.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Develop care plans and information-sharing protocols.
  • Ensure the care setting is maintained, and supplies and equipment are managed.
  • Report equipment issues and assist with ordering supplies.
  • Perform additional duties as required.


  • Registered Nurse with active An Bord Altranais (ABA) registration.
  • Nursing Degree
  • Experience working with people living with dementia desirable
