A new and exciting role for a Field Sales Support Executive on behalf of a leading wholesaler in the decorating, hardware, homeware, and gardening markets. The Field Sales Support Executive will play a critical role in maximising sales opportunities by building relationships with customers and ensuring products are effectively promoted and that orders are created.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create market leading merchandising and presentation standards to promote products, manage the merchandising relationships and maximise all sales opportunities for clients. This includes implementing planograms, stocking shelves, arranging and maintaining product displays and keeping track of occasions where products are removed from sale.
  • Monitor customer inventory and stock levels and create an order utilising historical purchase data as well as incorporating any promotional activity.
  • Identify opportunities for new products for our customers and work closely with the Area Sales Manager to ensure proactive engagement is made with the customer in order to enhance sales and meet monthly sales targets.
  • Work closely with the Area Sales Manager to accurately forecast trends, plan stock levels, set price levels, plan promotions and monitor performance.
  • Analyse slow sellers and bestsellers from a product and customer perspective, making adaptations as necessary to ensure they reach their full potential.
  • Be able to provide training and support to customers' sales teams, retail staff, or their customers regarding product knowledge, usage, or troubleshooting. This includes clear communication, answering queries, and solving problems.
  • Demonstrate continued progression of market knowledge and competitors, conduct market research to identify customer preferences, emerging trends, competition, and market demands, feeding back to company and applying this to the role.
  • Use existing sales best practice to monitor the market, understand the competition and know how to continuously create distinguished competitive edge for company. Use existing and developed sales knowledge and expertise to convey the overall business goals and priorities into tangible sales results.
  • Build exceptional and trusted relationships with clients that promote longevity and provide opportunity for growth and further sales, through competently managing customer enquiries.
  • Record all customer communication within Numerik to support high quality customer care and service.

Person Specification:

  • 2 years proven successful experience in a Retail role.
  • Good levels of literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Able to appropriately build relationships to gain the cooperation of relevant stakeholders (including customers, senior and peer colleagues, other professionals).
  • Good commercial acumen and the ability to understand what will appeal to customers.
  • Able to work as part of a team to achieve team goals and targets.
  • Able to work independently, using own initiative to organise, plan and complete own tasks and workload.
  • Full driving license

Desirable Criteria:

  • Specific Display or Design Qualification.
  • Proven successful experience of at least 1 year in a Merchandising role.
  • Educated to leaving certificate in relevant fields. (i.e. English, Maths, Business, etc) or an equivalent amount of business experience.
  • Experience of managing expectations of multiple customers.

The successful Field Sales Support Executive will enjoy a competitive salary circa €32, 600 depending on experience plus Bonus, Company Vehicle, Phone and Laptop.


The Field Sales Support Executive role will cover all of Munster mainly including the bottom half of Leinster.
