Job description

We are looking for a dispatch lead to join our clients thriving production business in Dungiven. This is an opportunity for the right candidate who is forward thinking, organised and proficent working knowledge of Excel. There will be a pathway to progress into a dispatch manager position.

If you are an experienced storeperson/warehouse operative who is proficent in Excel and Microsoft Suite then this could be your next career move.

  • You will take full responsibility for the day-to-day operation and development of all aspects of the dispatch function, including planning and scheduling systems.
  • Identify, develop and implement improvement initiatives to current processes. Produce and communicate delivery plans, delivery targets and performance requirements liasing closely with the production manager, purchasing manager, purchasing manager,
  • Liaise closely Contracts manager to service the fitting team installation schedules to make sure all products and materials are on site in a timely manner to facilitate installation of orders complete and full with minimum visits to site, also ensuring expedition of critical items to meet installation deadlines
  • Updating and maintaining accurate data on all ERP, planning and scheduling systems in use to ensure clear, company-wide communication is achieved on all delivery progress and status changes.
  • Schedule and optimising company vehicles and drivers to keep overall delivery costs to a minimum.
  • Organising and scheduling of external haulers when required- maintaining costs and liasing with company accountant.
  • Ensuring all delivery information is communicated clearly with company accountant.
  • Resolving any delivery issues, investigating root cause and implementing effective corrective actions.

What we need from you:

  • Strong IT skills with good familiarity of the MS office suite, especially EXCEL.
  • Experience of using ERP systems and online web based software.
  • Previous experience of dispatch function / logistics would be very beneficial.
  • Excellent numeracy and planning skills combined with logical thinking and high accuracy in data management.
  • Excellent attention to detail with good record keeping.
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines in a fast moving environment preferably within the construction industry.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • An excellent team player who can perform well as part of a small team.
  • Adaptable, can work under pressure.
  • Good experience gained working in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience of dealing directly with customers and suppliers.
  • Open and receptive to new learning experiences and ideas.
