My client a leading public sector organisation based in Dundonald are currently seeking to recruit a Full-Time Car Parking Assistant.
Hours: Rotational rota, shifts of 6am - 2pm, 2pm - 10pm & 10pm - 6am. Rota will be issued two weeks in advance.
Pay: £12.31 per hour
KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
· Security Service Assistants will carry such equipment which is required to enable the successful completion of their function · Will maintain the Support Services Uniform Policy ensuring high standards of appearance at all times · To correctly use personal protective equipment / clothing issued by the Trust & Ensure that all security equipment, including radio sets, are in working order and to report any loss or damage to the security supervisor. · To adhere to and act within guidance set out in Trust Policies and Procedures · To assist in the investigation of and to report incidents, accidents and losses in line with Departmental / Trust Policy · To ensure that Health and Safety Regulations are observed · Report faults and security breaches in line with trust guidance · Patrol the site either by foot or in a vehicle as required and in accordance with information, instruction and training. · Respond to reported incidents as directed by the line manager (usually supervisor) or service user as appropriate · Security Service Assistants will respond immediately to calls for security assistance, take notes of as much relating detail as possible to enable completion of necessary logs/reports and retain evidential material where appropriate 1. In situations where assault has taken place or is taking place 2. Where patients are being assessed under the Mental Capacity Act and may be at risk to themselves or others 3. Where staff or patients are in fear of physical harm 4. Where theft or other criminal activity is alleged to have taken place 5. Where there has been a report of a confirmed fire, security staff will take direction from the person in charge where there is a risk to patients and their evacuation is considered · When attending an incident Security Service Assistants will take action within the limits of what is provided by training in relation to Legal Powers and Management of Aggression and Potential Aggression (MAPA) and ensure that those who are held under Deprivation of Liberty as determined by the Mental Capacity Act, remain in the care of clinicians · Will seek assistance from the PSNI to deal with persons allegedly offending Public Order (NI) Order legislation · Will liaise with the PSNI as required and assist as far as possible with their requests for assistance/information · Will carry our site internal and external building patrols both on foot and in vehicle, in accordance with patrol schedules to protect Trust assets and all persons with a view to giving confidence to staff and patients · Will respond to intruder alarm activations and take such action as determined by circumstances · Will be required to wear PPE to satisfy Health and Safety legislation requirements · Will provide an escort for staff who are concerned about their safety if possible · Will retrieve and move confidential waste to a central collection point · Will participate in all CCTV training courses provided by QUELL to reach accreditation to operate CCTV in accordance with the following provided requirements 1. Instructions for the Operation of CCTV 2. CCTV Operators Operational Requirements 3. The Information Commissioners Office CCVT Codes of Practice · Will comply with all the requirements of the Major Incident Plan such as taking up static points in ED ensuring that all staff called out in these emergency circumstances have parking access and to provide a resource to support priority Portering tasks as required · Respond to reports of suspicious, threatening or aggressive behaviour and challenge unauthorised presence on Trust controlled property · Report obstructions within passageways, entrances, footpaths, fire escapes and roadways through appropriate channels · Report damage to Trust property and detected equipment failures through appropriate channels · SSA may be asked to give evidence in court · Will support all car parking function as required including car park management duty requirements, monitor traffic flow throughout sites and report obstructions · Will move and escort the movement of cash to cash office · Will maintain all necessary logs, keep all appropriate records and complete incident reports when required · Will provide support for porter priority tasks where the demand exceeds provided porter staffing levels · Will periodically carry out cleaning functions · Will take possession of lost property and deal with same in accordance with Trust Policy |
Essential Criteria
Age 18 years or over AND Must have at least two years previous experience in a security role |

Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK which enables the holder to drive a manual transmission vehicle. This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport approved by the Trust which will permit them to carry out the duties of the post. |
